Prorizna Street ((ウクライナ語:Вулиця Прорізна)) is a street located in central Kiev (''Kyiv''), the capital of Ukraine. Street is located between Khreshchatyk and Volodymirska streets. Founded at the end of 40s start of 50s of 19th century. On 1848 Kyiv city map this street was marked as planned. Most oldest known name of this street is Martynivska. In 50s this street was known under two additional names: Zolotokhreschenska and Prorizna. From 1863 until 1919 street official name was Vasylchykovska, named after Kyiv General-Governor I.I.Vasylchikov. In the same time its current name, Prorizna, was also widely used. From 1919 till 1990 street was named Sverdlova, named after Bolshevik leader Yakov Sverdlov. Street was ruined in 1941-43 during German occupation in World War II. New buildings were built after war and new "green zone" was created by moving new buildings further from road. Street was changed to its historical name, Prorizna, in 1990. Street adjoins the following stres: Pushkinska, Borysa Grinchenka and Patorzhinskogo. There is another Prorizna street located at Kiev's Bilychi suburb. == Notable buildings ==
